COMMUNICATION is vital in a fast-paced world and efficient and cost-effective communication on the run can mean the difference between success and failure.

Gencom is a leading Hunter and Central Coast region supplier of mobile communication systems.

So successful has the company been that it is now celebrating its 25th year.

Small business, event organisers, entertainment, hospitality, construction, mining, engineering, manufacturing, government and commercial ventures use Gencom products and services.

Managing director Martin McLeod said he was proud of Gencom's success.

"Basically we design, service and support reliable two-way radio communications systems," he said.

"These systems are ideal for multisite, mobile organisations, they're easy to use, and designed to outperform other communications systems in these environments.

"Clients who want to reach a large number of staff quickly and cost-effectively use our in-house/wide area radio paging systems."

Mr McLeod said traditional carrier networks such as mobile phones were expensive to operate and might not provide good coverage in sparsely populated areas.

"Gencom monitoring and telemetry systems allow you to control the operation of vital processes, equipment and machines saving you time and money.

"We also market and distribute an extensive range of GPS [global positioning system] products.

"Our company-owned transmission sites provide superior coverage for community repeaters, paging systems, trunked networks and a wide range of ancillary services including broadcasting and microwave.

"These company-owned towers and other Gencom transmission sites extend radio coverage from the Hunter to Sydney."

Trained staff at Wickham, Gosford and Singleton offices offer exacting technical sales and support. Workshops are fully equipped and staffed by qualified technicians.

Five mobile workshops provide emergency services, repairs and support and are available 24 hours a day.

"In addition to our primary role in equipment sales and service, we offer system engineering and design, RF path profiles, radio site surveys, intermodulation analysis and site design," he said.
